Now my mudguard saga is sorted I now have tyre issues! Fitted conti double fighter 26x1.9 to my old orange dad bike. Lovely things, enjoyed riding the forest trails to school and a mega family gravel/off road ride.
Problem is they are nice and soft so when you add 90kg dad and 15?kg child on the back the tyre deforms too much and rubs all over the place. To stop these I need to set the guards up with crazy spacing or run silly high pressure.
What’s a good alternative 26inch 1.75 ish tyre with a bit of tread? I love the look of the dirt jump style tyres and they ride well but maybe not ideal for heavy loads!
