Thats some smart material re use! Love the combo of old and new. I wish we had room/money for that kinda space but both were limited.

If you don't mind me asking, what are the dimensions of the room? We are thinking of a side return extension but I find it hard to visualise the space we will get

Not at all...
The original was 8m sq (3.3m x 2.4m) and new one is 13m sq (3.3m x 3.4m) and a bit too narrow/small to squeeze an island in.
I used home.by.me to help my early visualisations.
