Glue, or bin. Snapped seat post clamp.

  • Evening all,

I hopped down a curb and managed to snap my seat post clamp. It's PMP Ti, I was wondering if it would be possible to glue or epoxy it back together.

    Cheers

  • No... unless you like going to the dentist

  • No... unless you like going to the proctologist

Ha ha, no way in the world could you rescue that post.

  • Bin. That started cracking a long time ago. There's another crack by the bolt.

  • its not going to make you see a dentist but it could cause a blood fart.

it won't glue but it could be welded up if you take to a machine shop

  • More likely a visit to a proctologist than a dentist.

  • Titanium.has a very low melting point. Hold the broken edges over a candle and then push them together very hard.

  • I took the bike to Wilsons in Peckham not long before it cracked, for some adjustments, the seat clamp being one of them, surprised they didn't spot it...

Sound, guess I'm in search for a seat post then. Looking for 27mm carbon post if anyone has anything knocking around.
