No the gold time gets transfered to ultimate time when you do the £1 upgrade.

That says it was 3:1 from gold to ultimate

That's once you've done the upgrade to Ultimate. Once you're on the Ultimate plan if you buy some Gold time and add it to your account you'll get 1 month Ultimate for every 3 months Gold

That's after you've already upgraded to ultimate. If you haven't already done that, it's 1:1
