The Playstation store used to let you register another account elsewhere in the globe which was region locked based on your credit card address, but the credit card company doesn't take notice of the address you provided. I had a US account registered to a hotel room I stayed in once, ands as it was set as primary I could buy games on the US account download them to the playstation and play them from my main UK account as a peer on the device.
IP address geolocation is considered the next level of this and you'd be surprised how many banks still don't have the facility implemented to prevent fraud and laundering. -

I did the same for something once I think - had a billing address set to the White House

I also had a 'pre approved' Amex application sent through when I was 14. Thought I'd take them up on it and filled it in saying I earned 40k. Not too shabby for a 14yr old.
Got a card through with a 4k credit limit a few weeks later. Shat myself and put it in a drawer. When the renewal form a year later with the annual fee came through I phoned them up and mentioned I was 15. They cancelled it rather quickly without any questions asked./csb

Fucks sake that's bad.

Late on this, I thought it was pants. Better movement than any other black ops IMO and gunsmith is pretty robust.
Not too keen on it, but it's CoD, so I'll probably get it anyway, but not on release -

Back on topic, I got platinum on the last of my SoulsBorneKiro games this week ahead of Demon's Souls (avoided PS3) so i'm now focused on Salt & Sanctuary and CupHead platinums to wrap up my PS4. Feelsgoodman, just hope that EldenRing is out by march to keep the pipeline going.

Well I just tried to buy 3 x 12 month of Brazilian Xbox Gold from CDKeys, I couldn't redeem the keys as on the CDKeys website it was stuck on "under review", now they've refunded me ¯\(ツ)/¯

Electronic First came through, they emailed me to confirm I did want Brazil time rather than EU or rest of world, I said yes and in seconds I had the codes, really good service. Now I don't have to pay anything else until Jan 2023.

Did you just follow the guide above?
-
• #23538
Basically yeah. I already had the TunnelBear chrome extension so just used that, the free version is good enough.
I bought three of these
https://www.electronicfirst.com/12-month-xbox-live-gold-membership-brl/
but realised I can't redeem the third yet as there's a 36 month max and I just renewed for this month, so next month I should be able to redeem the final 12 months.Within a couple of minutes they'd emailed to confirm I wanted the Brazil one, offered others if I paid the difference. I said it's fine, got an email with the 3 codes back straight away.
Turn on vpn, go to redeem.microsoft.com, enter code. Done.

How do I then convert that to ultimate? Sorry for the dum questions/
-
• #23540
Once you've added some game time go to your account and there should be a "manage" or "upgrade" button, I can't remember exactly what it said but clicking it takes you to the Ultimate page where you can upgrade for £1. https://account.microsoft.com/services/
-
• #23541
Great I'll try it out now.
-
• #23542
Huh, looks like I've still got a Series X in my basket on the Microsoft store even though they're sold out.
-
• #23543
So the 3 years of gold gets you 1 year of ultimate basically?
-
• #23544
No the gold time gets transfered to ultimate time when you do the £1 upgrade.
-
• #23545
Oh wow - I saw a table on this site;
That says it was 3:1 from gold to ultimate
-
• #23546
That's once you've done the upgrade to Ultimate. Once you're on the Ultimate plan if you buy some Gold time and add it to your account you'll get 1 month Ultimate for every 3 months Gold
-
• #23547
Fantastic - thank you. I'll buy it now.

Glad you said that, I felt bad thinking it was rubbish as it was only an "alpha test" (which I assume it really wasn't as I would have thought they'd do that internally ages ago - this was more just limited marketing guff to make playstation owners feel special).
My thoughts were that they've done a great job of making me think I was playing Black Ops 1 on my PS3, but that's not really what I'd want from a new game. Definitely felt like a step back but I guess Black Ops has always been a bit more cartoon-ish than modern warfare.
I probably won't be buying it but a nice hope would be that they re-skin Warzone to make it resemble Black-ops and change the map so it's an amalgamation of BO multiplayer maps as they did with the current map & MW.

That's after you've already upgraded to ultimate. If you haven't already done that, it's 1:1

So do I have to cancel anything once its been done? OR will the ultimate billing start once the free cards have expired?
I suspect they're not actually too fussed about people doing this for Xbox Game Pass.
I've essentially bought into the ecosystem for 3 years just before the Xbox Series S/X is released, so they've got another sale there almost guaranteed and they've removed any thought of a PS5. It also persuaded me to buy an Xbox One S at the start of lockdown.
So they've certainly 'lost' a couple of hundred quid by my cheating to get it, but they've taken me out of Sony or Google Stadia's clutches for a while.
