Repeated twice. Gratuitously. What I got from it was entitled petulance. Back under the bridge.

First ride on the Pickenflick last weekend. Still needs some tweaks to the setup, but all in all I'm very happy

Depends whether you think Reynolds fancier tubing is worth it.
Similar bikes I've seen:
Brother Kepler
Genesis Fugio
Bombtrack Ext
Fairlight Faran
Cotic escapade

Thoughts on a Planet-X Tempest, I know the company has very mixed reviews ... but I've been considering one since I saw this build > seems expensive for a f&f but so cheap for full build. Although dont fancy 1X drivetrain.

these 2 are destroying the thread

They're supposed to ride quite well, by all accounts. Where you'll have trouble is with any warranty issue, which appears to be not uncommon. Tube/weld failures not uncommon within a couple of years, absolutely no chance with warranty replacement.

We randomly had 2 of these in 2 weeks come in, one had wonky BB shell/threads, other had wonky head tube.
Decent steel > cheap ti

I've two mates who have bought them, both really happy with them. I still own a Ti Pickenflick and its brilliant - still my favourite bike even after buying a Moots and a Slate

Decent steel > cheap ti
I think Tester once said something along the lines of, in the context of cycling, the benefits of titatnium are far outweighed by the drawbacks of the material.

I think the majority of people who buy them are in a similar position. If you get a good one, they're good.
If you get a bad one, Planet X's warranty dept are shitbags.
Without opening a ti vs steel debate - I like my ti Kinesis Tripster, I also like my steel Fairlight. I'd rather have a £2k steel bike than a £2k titanium bike - it'd just be made better.

Depends on the quality of the material, and who is making it. As with everything ever, basically.

Thanks, good to hear some opinions. I have actually seen a few for sale that were supposedly warranty replacements which doesn’t bode very well when their sale numbers are probably relatively low. Not the kind of build that you’d want strength concerns with.

9 tooth cog sounds a bit shit.
Sorry if it came across like that to you. I really am impressed by your bikes and that you have found a fantastic work life balance.
The not wanting my money thing was a one line tongue in cheek comment that I have money for a nice new bike and I want the forum to help me spend it. I'm sure most people would get that, maybe I should have used a smily emoji?
Sorry again and all the best.
