No. If anything the hoop stresses from tyre inflation will be less. Wider rims may make the tyre sidewalls more susceptible to cuts and abrasion though, as the tyre tread will be less inclined to roll and stay in contact with the road surface.

Actually it's more, since hoop stress goes up with increased section radius. In practice, this is usually offset by using lower inflation pressure.
