• Just paid £2600 for my e46, 320d touring. 75k, one owner, 04 plate. It’s a low spec/base model but in good condition other than one big scratch. I was worried I paid over the odds! Lol. It’s not the fastest or fanciest (but more than good enough for me on both counts). Not many examples with low miles around.

    Not ulez compliant tho.

  • Interesting, so 4 years older but sweet straight 6 power = £1,200 more

I can see cars like this becoming more and desirable as a "usable classic" by people like me who don't want a hideous modern car - I only do approx £5k a year so in theory should go on indefinitely with a reasonable level of maintenance

  • reasonable level of maintenance

    Ominous drums in the distance

  • A lot of the e46 range has been whittled down by emergent faults too. Autos not as reliable, certain versions had problems that only emerged at 90k (something about a timing gear being machined directly on the crankshaft as a cost saving measure only for it to cause wear and have the chains fail IIRC).

By no means an expert, but I definitely came across certain versions to avoid.

  • I sold a 328 2001 i believe same bodyworks anyways.

Think i got like 2000 gbp for it but this was in sweden and was 3 years ago. Had something like close to 20k km on it. Was otherwise in okay condition. To me that car in yr link sounds expensive but cant say im in tune with current uk or swedish market for these tho.
