Can they just reinvent the SoftRide already so we can complete the circle and move on?

There were some rumours about a batch of these made again. (peregrine)

Don't know, I'm afraid. I just saw the bike on the Singular Cycles facebook page

Pretty sure they are. The two hand positions lining up is one of the marmite features.

Now my mudguard saga is sorted I now have tyre issues! Fitted conti double fighter 26x1.9 to my old orange dad bike. Lovely things, enjoyed riding the forest trails to school and a mega family gravel/off road ride.
Problem is they are nice and soft so when you add 90kg dad and 15?kg child on the back the tyre deforms too much and rubs all over the place. To stop these I need to set the guards up with crazy spacing or run silly high pressure.
What’s a good alternative 26inch 1.75 ish tyre with a bit of tread? I love the look of the dirt jump style tyres and they ride well but maybe not ideal for heavy loads! -

Minus the child seat for tinkering but definitely functional

Hi folks, here is my take on the functionalwheeliecommuter. I love it although this build is not done. Thanks to the amount of kms ridden, some very much needed upgrades are exciting.

Loads of function going on there.

Any of the 26er functional lot tried Continental CONTACT Speed or Continental CONTACT Urban?
Currently leaning towards CONTACT Speed because it's all black. But last time I ordered a 2.0 tyre (marathon supreme) they came out at 43mm and I sank into a pit of despair and sent them back. If this is another undersized tyre thing I'd rather just get the CONTACT Urban in 2.2.

No but I’m also curious!

I've been a fan since Rivendell started espousing the Speed as "basketball" tires. Pretty light, but mostly rolls really nice, I have them in 622.
Move your weight backwards? Bike fit before silly stem.
