Wouldn’t trust a compromised helmet on the road. Might not mind too much low-speed on dirt.
I have an HJC flip-front and for the weight penalty I love it. So convenient to get on and off and to do stuff like stop, refuel, eat, drink, talk, whatever.
Nearly a year of ham fisted slamming shut and only the smallest signs of wear to the hinge.

Shoei Neotec and Shoei EX Zero. Used to have Arai or Roof but somehow realised after years of those that I prefer Shoei. The Neotec would have to be the choice if I could only have 1 but I prefer the light weight of the EX Zero, it's the only helmet I've ever had that I would describe as enjoyable to wear.
Did a glorious 80 miles yesterday morning around Ashstead Forest, lost count of the amount of peletons I past around the Kent lanes....
....+1 for the Quadlock and Calimoto app @Soul - lovely little route down.
In other news....my pal dropped my helmet a few weeks back and I've been umming as to whether it needs replacing. It's an Arai, what are people using on here?
