It looks 100% better in red?
For the same price you can probably get a real usa one at a car boot sale?

These Kramers seem to be having a moment. Very hipster use of one here (clean tone, uncut strings, missing high E etc):
I’m kinda into it. Always had a weakness for ice-cream coloured superstrats. I’m ignoring the HM Strat reissues Fender are peddling at the moment.

Also very high on my list... The quality on these isn't great but we're never gonna find an old one for cheaps... Such a beautifully simple weapon...
I've almost walked out of a shop with one a couple of times...

Bought new machines for my Jag, white plastic buttoned Klusons... Can't resist modding that thing, it's getting a bit silly now... Might even look totally shit but I've got a solid hunch it's gonna be really pretty and look quite unusual...
I keep getting paranoid I've transformed it into a Johnny Marr sig so this will make it look a little bit different to that... #imsobored #canyoutell

If this falls through you should consider a Waterloo WL-14 MH

They're lovely but a bit more than I want to spend and I've already got an O sized guitar... That looks just like my KG14... Have you got one? How do they play?
-
• #9435
I've not played a Waterloo but I've got (and have played lots of) Collings and they're the same company, Waterloo are their very authentic pre-war style models.
I can be absolutely sure they'll be extraordinarily good though!

Ex-Collings strummer here.... I've played quite a few Waterloos, x-braced, ladder-braced hogs and maple variants and all have been slightly too thin and down-home sounding for me even though I quite like clonky old boxes. Molly Tuttle and suchlike geniuses make them sound fab on youtube but in real life, at UK RRPs, am unconvinced...

Heh, clonky old boxes. Perfect.
Quick q for the panel: Replacement vintage style tuners for a Tele, Kluson or Gotoh?

Woop! PM incoming... Thanks!
I just bought some Gotoh branded ones for my Jag, not too precious about what they were but it's an MIJ anyway...

Vintage style 6 in a line, nickel, non locking, non height adjustable from WD music.

Gotoh sd91
Exactly what I bought, I'm hoping new bushings won't be necessary... 😬

Gotoh set for less money here: https://www.axecaster.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35&products_id=228
Gotoh also has a similar style locking set without the thumb wheels (coin slot at the top of the post). I got these recently but haven't used them yet.

Good find. Thanks man, ordered them plus the adapter bushings.
My Tele is really silly now. It's a 2001 USA Standard but literally everything on it bar the body and neck has been replaced over the years. The tuners were the last bit of original hardware I think.
It really could use a re-fret to be honest. I love it but I think it's time for me to transfer my tinkering attention to something new.

Next logical step would be pots, pickups and Bigsby on the Epi Riviera. I have the pots already and have made a decision not to put the cheap chinese knock-off Bigsby that I bought on on it. Guess I'm shopping for a real deal Bigsby and some pickups then!
Any recommendations for nice, not stupidly expensive, vintage voiced (low output) HBs to go in the Riviera?

Bit late - but I used the Gotoh Nickel ones on my partscaster. They’re great so far.

I just knocked up a brass headstock badge which may go on my current acoustic or electric project. Could do a tidier one so it may get replaced.

That's good - how did you do it?
No, the brand is Wizz pickups. Never heard of them before tbh. Looks like originally these came with Seymour Duncans.
