Is there any reason for things to run out again this time around?
International (Chinese) manufacturing and global supply lines are working again, with no immediate indication of shutting down like before. That means shortages and panic buying like before aren’t imminent in the UK, thankfully.
However, there are day-to-day items and services that may become harder to acquire because the point of sale is locked down (like toys or gifts), or demand spikes (like flour, or inner tubes if cycling is one of the few outdoor activities allowed again). Some items and services might become impossible to get in a lockdown (like haircuts, or physio appointments, which happened to me).
I guess my idea was more to crowd source ideas for maintaining convenience and quality of life under lockdown, rather than thinking that basic necessities like TP might run out. (Edit) That said, I don’t think doing some basic household prepping is ever a bad idea.
Is there any reason for things to run out again this time around? Assuming we don’t get another run on toilet paper or baking ingredients. I’m basically planning on getting a haircut while I still can and that’s about it. Or am I being blasé?
