I'm hoping for Porte to beat Lopez onto the podium.
About 25w more watts (cda, rolling, bike setup, pacing) would do it.How does the Astana Willier Turbine TT bike compare to the Trek Speed Concept?
The Astana Williers look particularly tasty, but expecting the Trek to be faster?

No worries.

99 seconds to get back in a TT on the fourth Saturday of the Tour is asking a lot. You’d expect Lopez to match or beat Porte up the climb too, so he’s got to get that time back on the flat.

I wasn't completely serious, I was going for more of a satirical tin foil hat cycling conspiracy theorist comment, but...
Apparently Zeeman had been offered the chance to have his own team's mechanic do the disassembly and didn't take it up.
Yellow jersey and stage winners' bikes are always tested, but cranks aren't always removed.
Maybe Zeeman didn't like the way they took the cranks off (too rough?) or maybe he didn't like the insinuation being made by them removing the cranks when that's not common practice.
I find either of those more plausible than the idea they've actually gor something to hide.
But I also really hope that's true because I would definitely like to believe we're watching a credible tour.
If Jumbo Visma are cheating despite having a superb team then what's the point?

What time should we be tuning in for to watch the GC guys today?

Dumoulin is off at 4pm UK time (3:58pm to be exact) and the others after that.

Perfect, thank you!

There are quite a few sprinters who have done absolutely nothing at this tour.
Sonny Colbrelli is just finishing the TT - has he been anywhere near a top 10 this year?
Cees Bol would also have gone unnoticed if he hadn't had a seven-man lead out up to his mediocre finishes. Viviani is apparently racing.
Surprises to be sprung on the Champs-Elysee? Or are they just stealing a living?

Sonny was 9th into Lyon

He's got an excellent name and I'd like to hear it more often.
He sounds like you'd find him outside Satriale's Pork Store with Tony and Silvio.

Caleb Ewan interview on ITV4 now.
Lotto Soudal haven't had a single fine all Tour. Ewan said he wouldn't take a sticky bottle or sit behind a car, because if he wasn't good enough to get through the tour, he didn't want to get to the last stage.
Honourable or martyrdom? I like him.

That’s harsh on Bol, he’s had a second place, a third place and two other top ten finishes in a race that has been tough for big sprinters like him.

What time is egan off?
-
• #1692
It is actually, I hadn't realised he'd done so well actually. I think I've looked out for him more (or noticed him more) in the stages where he's had a significant lead-out - perhaps he's done better in stages where he hasn't.
Perhaps tomorrow is his day.
Groenewegen, Kristoff and Greipel have all taken their only win of the year's race on the final stage recently. I had been sure that the same was true of Arnaud Demare, that he had underwhelmed for weeks and then won in Paris, but I was thinking of 2018 when he won Stage 18.

Tony Martin finished 5 minutes down on Cavagna.
I know he's got a different job now but it's a shame.

Just tuned in to Pinot doing a very slow bike change. Is everyone going for the bike change?
-
• #1699
Also recapping the series with 'Talking Sopranos'?
-

That looked quicker than some of the other changes, took him a sec to clip in though
Where? Because I’m pretty sure I didn’t.
