@aggi Maybe subconsciously I did!! It's a great machine so very averse to changing it. It works perfectly though any access point I've put it through, but there always seems to have been a loss of connection at one point or the other even with a VPN turned off.
Good shout on the PCI slot, will remove and see.
@chez_jay It seems like you might be getting at something there. There's a very cheap upgrade to the network card that will let this machine work with all the latest standards.
I'm wired up now and it flies, so I'm suspecting it might be a hardware incompatibility issue.
Yeah it's an odd one for sure. I've never encountered anything like this before. At any rate, I've ordered a newer chip-set (£12) which is near enough plug and play (Just need a modified bios) and will see how it works out.
