nah not really. the car belonged to my gf's mum for most of it's life and lived on the west coast of Scotland. the family mechanic up there at last MOT said it would need a hell of a lot of welding done to get it through the next one. my local wrench confirmed that when the alternator failure happened last week. 106,000 miles on the clock. engine could probably do a fair bit more.
the MOT covid extension helped us keep it parked on the drive. it has probably only done 60 miles in last six months. so it's not needed really. just a bit of a family heirloom. we will keep the private plates from it.
it is being picked up for scrap next tuesday.
