Porte punctures like he weighs 120kg

What a day for Jumbo Visma. DS Merijn Zeeman apparently has been using foul language and intimidated a UCI official at the bike checks on Wednesday, was fined 2000CHF and expelled from the TdF. Wow. And even the great WVA needs a car tow now and then to get back to his fellow climbers and GC contenders.

Jumbo Visma director has been kicked off the tour for insulting and intimidating a UCI employee during a bike inspection after stage 17

Amazingly, that is Kwiatkowski's first individual GT stage win.
-
• #1581
Anybody know how much Kwiatkowski can celebrate tonight? Are they really strict on diet during the tour?
-
• #1582
I reckon he can go fucking nuts, as they don’t have a GC contender to defend.
So half a glass of non alcoholic beer and a extra grating of Parmesan on their gluten free pasta

What's he trying to hide?
-
• #1584
No way! Did anyone else know this? I thought they'd have mentioned it by now if this was the case.

I didn't see it, but he said in the press conference for the stage win that he was going to celebrate a lot tonight, then realised they have the KoM jersey to defend and he wasn't going to be able to.

ITV mentioned points being available at the summit finish of the TT.
I'm guessing that's for the fastest finishers, rather than something clever but complex like split times for the uphill segment?

Matt Rendell says the Tour de France rule book says it’s the time up the mountain. So Carapaz can pootle to the hill and race up it.
-
• #1588
And not bother riding a TT bike I guess?
-
• #1589
I feel for the Ineos riders who can climb; the Tour is done and dusted yet you've still got to turn yourself inside out on the last first cat climb of the race to try and defend the KoM jersey.
How the mighty have fallen.

When Porte punctured, I get why he can't use a Magic neutral service wheel (because DBAD) but why not get on one of those bikes that are pointlessly driven around on top of Mavic cars at every grand tour?
-
• #1591
They’re meant to be worse than DBAD
-
• #1592
today was the worst GC day for more than a week

They’re meant to be worse than DBAD
They split in two when they go abroad?
-
• #1594
The mavic car has dbad wheels but where as the team cars seem to have an electric drill to do the thruaxel for some reason the neutral service car get out what looks like a cross wrench and potter along doing it, you could order and enjoy a Tartiflette while they do it
-

Mmmmm tartiflette.
-
• #1596
well i didn't know that about Pinot.

Bit late to the party, but I did enjoy the closing credits music on the ITV4 highlights.

My wife’s favourite part.

I hadn’t thought about it like that, I thought that Carapaz would have to beat Pogocar up the final climb, didn’t think that the other way to defend it would be to post strong times to keep Pogacar out of the points...

Basically what Morkov (sorry Danes, blame my phone) is doing on intermediate sprints.
Ineos attack to collect the single mountain point tomorrow?
