the whole thing just feels a bit tossed off. I know they have the 35th anniversary to hit but I'd rather they'd have just waited and gave the whole thing a bit more polish (and added in SMG2 too ffs). they do a lot of frustrating things but not sure it's like nintendo to give their marquee franchises inadequate love and care

am I the only person who doesn't hate the look of teh PS5?

I think it's alright, I actually quite like how they've tried to make it not just a grey box that goes under the TV.

Am torn about getting a PS5, have had every version since the PSOne, but very rarely play or have time for video games these days. Although I did see that God Of War is coming out on on PS5 which I think was the last thing I played on the PS4

PS5 looks great - white on black is always a strong look. Not too interdasted in their starting line up so will probably hold off for a while and use the time to play all the late stage PS4 games on the cheap.
digital, obvs. Discs are dead tech. Also - germs.

I’m going to wait until next christmas and see how it goes price wise with the ps5. Will probably get one, but ps4 still has plenty of games I could be getting on with, and my playing time is limited so unlikely to be able to block out whole days/nights to crunch through something.
Am torn between digital only and disc version though. Digital does limit the savings you can get on games unless you buy nothing until days of play comes round, and it still feels like you never really get as good a discount as when you physically source something second hand..
forgot to say, disc version holds out the hope that you can pop a ps4 game into ps5 and not feel like you have to buy it again/subscribe to ps plus to play it.

With the rise in popularity of free to play games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone etc... plus the "free" monthly games on PS Plus (which you have to subscribe to anyway to get online) it's pretty incredible you can play on the next gen for £360 and not have to spend anything else.
Have they actually released the dimensions of the PS5 yet? I don't mind the styling but it looks quite big compared to the controllers & they look bigger than the PS4 ones. It'll be annoying if they don't fit into a Kallax square.

I still have the xbox one x and not really too inclined to upgrade yet as i'm guessing the games will work, looking at you thps and new COD.
Instead I'm looking for a better TV for now - thinking samsung frame.
At some point I'd love to play the playstation games I've missed out on as I haven't owned one since the ps2 days.

Sort of - you're at the mercy of Sony's pricing strategy if you get the digital edition and don't want to play those games you mention. They've confirmed all first party games will be £70 so....
Xbox you get all 1st party games on launch day and a console (with less power but still) for £60 less.

Yeah digital only sounds good and all but download only titles are rarely available outside the official store. Also you can't buy anything second hand.

LG OLED all the way.

Or just sign up for the monthly payment thing and pay less in the long run while paying less than a typical phone contract each month.

This.
I think the Xbox Game Pass makes a digital only console viable for Xbox but DE PS5 doesn't make sense to me.
I'm Xbox Series X day one but I'll keep an eye out for PS5 disc version sales next year or the year after.

A quick google says you can block those;

I really like the look of the Frame TV too. Should another company sell a sleek tv that looks great on the wall I'd happily look at that too.

• #23294
Yup. Your TV menu (for changing inputs etc) has an ad spot which is not removable. Samsung TVs also dial back home several 100 times a day, sharing TV usage data.

We're just victims of the Switch's popularity, as a Wii U owner I'm feeling especially peeved...
I'm looking forward to playing all three games, wish it had come out during the lockdown... Maybe it'll help me stop playing Mario Kart Tour...

Smart TV's use their own ecosystem, often built on top of Android, and it's shitty. You're relying on the support of the manufacturer to keep it up to date and working which they often don't. A Firestick, Roku or the like is much better as it's a dedicated platform. I say this as a developer of a smart TV app.

That's exactly what I did. Picked up a PS4 pro when Last of us 2 came out, and working my way through the exclusive backlog.
If you're interested, I'm going to pick up a Series S when it launches, so happy to sell on the PS4 pro at a sensible price if you'd be interested closer to the time.

My wii u just went back to my parents so my dad can get lost on hyrule field ha. Can't believe you're still on MKT!
I'll probs get it, but it's hard not to resent their back-catalogue policy compared to other platforms
