When people were using Titan grinders for single dosing it’s because there wasn’t something else that could grind that well but these were never designed for home use. It was how to get accurately ground beans but had major issues with workflow because these devices were made for high volumes of beans being ground all day so retention and exchange weren’t an issue and there would be a hopper of beans also reducing popcorning.
.
It’s the amount of grounds that need to be purged when changing from espresso to filter or using a different bean.
Also the given the retention isn’t consistent having to weigh beans in, grounds out and either deciding to accept the exchange or try to get as much of the retained grounds out each time the grinder is used.

Vs a grinder with such low retention (and consequently exchange too) that these things don’t have to be done. Also lower waste.
