  • Carbon Collective Platinum Trim for the black plastic is incredible stuff.

  • £24 for 15ml?!

  • In that case I seem to remember that Halfords do some touch-up pens. Like a paint marker, but with automotive paint. If you can get one of them to match that would seem a reasonable option, perhaps with a bit of T-Cut to blend it in.

  • If you're not too fussed about getting the paint perfect, use Meguiar's product. Give the car a good wash- get yourself a wash mitt an some buckets. Then use something like Meguiar's NXT synthetic wax. Super easy to put on and take off and it'll make the car look 90% better. Also grab a pack of microfiber towels, makes buffing and drying so much easier.

  • I believe i had mine spot repaired for something like 60-80gbp. Although it was a few years ago

  • Also, anything to help restore the black plastic on the exterior as it’s all quite faded.

    This really is the dogs,

    Owatrol

  • I believe 50/50 diesel/engine oil is the unscrupulous mechanics weapon of choice when tarting up plastics

  • Have you used this on a car? A look at the amazon reviews seem to indicate it’s for doors and furniture.

  • You only need a few drops to do a whole bumper, honestly, it's incredible.

Ask @Dammit about Gtechniq C4, priced only a little bit cheaper at £22-23 for the same amount, and this is better.

  • Google Maps is pretty good at diverting around that via the Barracks at Lark Hill. I remember the essential need to keep moving at all costs with an infant on board!

Coming down yesterday there was severe traffic where the A303 merges into a single lane on a hill shortly after SH. The smell of clutch material was strong.

  • Good point. I didn't have a long look, but am confused by the legislation, both France and UK rules states a quadricycle can't be >350kg, yet the Ami is 485kg with battery.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadricycle_(EU_vehicle_classification)

    Light quads (L6e): 425kg unladen, excluding fuel/battery
    Heavy quads (L7e): 450kg unladen, excluding fuel/battery
Heavy quads (L7e) for goods: 600kg unladen, excluding fuel/battery

  • Most decent second hand car dealers

    Decent it was not.

  • Half and half on our Pluriel

  • Great Harry’s Garage today. https://youtu.be/Xoz1AMkjOuA

I used this on my Civic, have been really impressed by both how well it works and the longevity.

It was £9.50 when I bought it from Amazon so maybe shop around.

You can also run a heat gun over the surface on some trim panels to revive the blackness

This works but I've read you're not meant to do it as it can damage the plastic long term or something. I would try less interventionist methods first personally.

This is very true. The scientific reasoning I've read is that the heat releases oils in the trim, which help bring the colour back, but in a sacrificial way.

  • That’s a great job. Thanks.

  • Car's looking good! On a tangent, I lived on RPT perpendicular to where you're parked during my last year at uni, thought the photo looked familiar..

  • Spotted this today.

The owner came over to talk to me when I was taking the photos.

    I was staggered!
Bought it new when he was 26 it’s been his and his wife’s only car since.
Been round the clock 4.2 times with many camping trips on the continent.
Never restored, just cared for 😲
