8m cubed according to the internet. which is a lot of beams.
you are right though, seems a terrible waste. you have to take it :)
edit - 8 cubic meters surely, not 8m cubed.

Wonder if anyone here would be able to help-
Have a large number of hessian jute sacks (once holding juniper berries) that I would like to have turned into tote bags/rucksacks/other gifting items.
Any London based craft people interested? -

The double Mitsubishi/Star of David at the top is just a place holder while I decide on a final pattern but it came out ok. Sadly because I can’t start with a larger triangle at the equator(it wouldn’t sit flush on the ball) the pattern disappears into tiny isosceles triangles before the top which explains the change in pattern near the top but I’m pretty pleased! Still a bit to do on the bottom half but it’s all good.
About to embark on a 4 colour twist on a slightly smaller sphere so will hopefully reach the top before the triangles get impossibly skinny.

That is brilliant. Never doubt that you are a craftsman. When I read your comment about 3d cad I tried to think about modelling something like that and couldn't visualise how do it! I do have reasonable cad skills but not much experience of spheres. The radiant effect is magical.

Lol, I’m a prop maker really. If I was a craftsman I’d be allowed to take credit for my own work instead of it being the companies product. I think that’s where the difference lies lol.
Either way it’s fun :)

I would never equate taking credit with being a craftsman, personally I would relate that to being an artist. In very simple terms you practice a craft and you're a craftsman (or woman or person obvs).

Clients have no taste. Love the pattern, not so much the colour choice :/

Very nice, how big is that?

600mm diameter. Good size for a domestic ball but not really big enough to fill a venue.
Freestanding with internal rotator. It’s totally triggered my long-dormant ocd tendencies :(
I love my work but that one was pretty intense. -

That looks great! But how did you get the image of the two people in there? Water float decals?

I've been making upcycled leather mice. Mice are a harder shape than you might think.
Blue eyed one has a pointy back due to last minute surgery, orange eyed one has the thousand yard stare.

Have a project in mind for the little ones third birthday next month and need a 700mm X 500mm piece of solid wood and perspex/acrylic of the same dimensions and about 5mm thick. Does anyone know where either can be sourced for not too much money on the London area?

Quick question about steel. I have some sheet steel and I want to make a dough scraper.
What can I do to the metal to stop it rusting?
I don't know. I've only been told the weight I think it's quite a lot.
It just seems criminal to burn it.
