Wouldn't the most annoying thing be if you got them and they didn't fit?
-
• #3
Yes absolutely. That's why I'm asking...

What is the maximum tyre width that will fit my Islabike?
You can find a range of tyre options that are available for your bike on the accessories page here. To find out the maximum width of tyre that can fit your Islabike please contact our customer service team on +44 (0)800 008 6297 or info@islabikes.co.uk -

Yeah that's as far as I got with the website too

Ha, just realised it came off as quite passive aggressive, lol. Didn't mean to be!

if for no other reason than it will annoy my wife...
This means go for it. Win either way?

If the tyres don't fit, that's a great reason to buy a new bike isn't it?
-
• #9
No worries! I'll let you know if they reply

Haha like your thinking

We went slightly bigger but not that much bigger. I’d wonder if you might end up making the bike too high doing this?
When I asked Isla bike about guards they were a bit unhelpful as I’d changed to slightly bigger tyres and basically said there was no need as kids are lighter so don’t need as much tyre volume but do need less rolling resistance. -

Interesting. I mean I can't pretend that there's any 'need' to change the tyres at all...
-

I’d stick with the smaller size then. Getting going and riding up hills are main issue for kids and I guess smaller tyres help that?

Yeah but...

I thought I'd give customer services a call for you, but they closed as of 5pm.
However, the answerphone says that there's a special address for technical queries (direct line to the spare bedroom) which is: techsupport@islabikes.co.uk - incase that's worth a try. -

Got the new fatties on and they fit fine. Had to fiddle with the brake caliper a bit but nothing major

I'm going to pimp my toddler's already overpriced Islabike Rothan, if for no other reason than it will annoy my wife...
So I started googling 12" tyres and found that Vans do some badass looking 12x2.2 tyres in various hideous camo patterns...
The islabike branded tyres that come on it are 12x1.25. anyone got any experience of putting fatter tyres on an islabike Rothan? Anyone know if the frame clearance will allow for it and if the rims can take it?
Thanks
