Feel like donating any?
Need to find a new lid, but can't test any these days. This one is getting proper noisy. -

Nice mate - we're smoked out here, doesn't look like there'll be any riding for a while...
What's missing on the bike front, not exciting enough?

Glad you're a-ok my good man, some of the pics I've been seeing are proper apocalyptic. A bit more neon and it'd look like a scene from Blade Runner. keep safe and keep us updated.
Pretty much bang on. It does everything adequately, which makes the experience...adequate.
You just don't really feel what the bike is doing through corners. Power comes on, but above 7k, it feels like it's wheezing.
Bouncy bits are pretty pogo. Front doesn't even have preload.I need to get the SV back on the road/track

Exhausted now, so much work done on the GN since this morning.
Cleaned all the shit out from the drivetrain, replaced front and rear sprockets, chain, cush drive rubber, snapped drum brake brace bolt, tensioner bolts, rev counter cable, scrubbed with sandpaper and solvent the drum brake surfaces, and put washers in the suicide stand so it isn’t quite so awful. I really have to ride the bike now and see if anything falls off.
The sprocket/chain kit that M&P sent is 3 teeth smaller at the back. Didn’t know when ordering. Hopefully the bike sits at slightly higher speeds in all gears with only a small loss in acceleration.
Cush drive was awful, so much movement, had the replacement since March and really should have put it in already now I see the difference.

Damn, I would've thought it would be getting lively over 7k. I HATE it when they de-tune motors for different applications.
SF has gone full Bladerunner, it's just orange and smoky here. Ash everywhere and it stinks. There are fires all over the Angeles NF so riding up there is off the cards . Local LE don't want people pissing around and the smoke is dreadful anyways.... Canyons by the sea are still fine but every squid in So-Cal is out at the weekend and they're much more heavily policed. Hopefully it will cool down enough in the next few weeks to get out to the desert off road.

This was of course on private land with the landowner’s permission and once you take away the 10% margin of error with vintage speedos likely only 68mph genuine... but the speedo tipped past 75mph with some bullying.
I was laughing in my helmet, the poor little GN125 has never gone so fast.

Good work fella! Flat on the seat, downhill, feet out the back, superman style?
-
• #15987
Dual carriageway, ducked down, flat road, fair wind, shifting on 11k before engine kaputs. Pretty sure on a downhill I could max it out.
I bet if I had the flipped clubman bars instead of the ultrawide braced ones, I’d crack it even quicker.
That 42T vs 45T definitely made a big difference to top speed per gear.

Thanks! I’m aware it’s all a bit #csb but hey.
You’re right too, it really has been through mud, muddy water, dual carriageways, rain, sun, wind, country roads, halfway stripped to pieces, seat foam reshaped and recovered, pannier racks and bags fitted, 3 different handlebars, spotlights, etc etc and even dumped headlight-first into a rut and still got me home again.
There’s been a hell of a lot of disheartening experiences, especially where the running issues from lack of maintenance by previous owners took time to diagnose and rectify.
All of that melted away today, with a bike that reliably accelerated to what I wanted, and stopped when I needed it to!
I’m popping LED indicators onto it tomorrow, along with a diode kit to fix the inevitable hazarding/dashboard light issue that will occur.

Anyone remember my fleet of bikes withy seized swing arm bolts? Well this one we got out. Drilled it out from one side and a 700nm + air impact from the other (after over a month in kroil) finally broke it free. New swing arm, bearings and bolt fitted then find the brand new yamaha ignition barrel has internal corrosion, fixed that and now runs like a champ again. Mate it taking it on as their first bike, its not pretty close up but mechanically and electrically its now as good as it can be.
So long little rev box, 110mpg will be missed but that's about it

Just had a call this morning, due to an admin error my motorcycle test on Wednesday has been cancelled. And earliest date is now 28th.
I think I’ll die before I ever get to ride.

• #15999
That’s really shit.
More time to practice I guess.

Except, not on the 600 where it matters. Struggled to get the hours with the instructor as it was.
As far as practicing on the 125.... well... I’m running out of tyre. Probably lowside it by the end of the month.

Nice 150 miler as a shake down after some maintenance. It's a decent bike. Wouldn't buy again though.
