Can someone identify the frame? Or at least what year it could be from? The brand is Diamant and frame material is alloy. 130 mm rear spacing, italian bb, 1" fork, internal routing for rear brake, tribal paintings. Seatpost is 27,2 mm, but I think that's not the original size. The fork is not a part of the frameset, I got it seperately. Seat tube is 62 cm c-t IIRC.

I've done some googling and I either find older steel Diamant road bikes or more current hybrid ones.

Not the best image but other Images I have are taken further away so identifying would be even harder I'd imagine.

Hi I have got this Iguana frame 531SL it is very much like a Mercian except for frame number which is RU12 and the seat binder is on the other side. I found a piece of paper with the original owners details an address in W14 and a phone number without the 0207 or 8 both of which are unobtainable.

Does anyone have any ideas of what it is?

Over BB guides, vertical dropouts, nutted brakes, lack of braze ons, Cinelli MC fork crown type is sort of 70's TT, loads of frame builders could turn out a really neat frame like that. SL morphed into Pro which should date it. Not an iguana lol Wally Green and the like made frames that shops sold on.

Does anyone know anything about the origin of this bike?

I've seen others like it in different sizes for sale and the sellers were saying that they are made by a frame builder from Evans Cycles.

It has mostly Campagnolo parts, except the brake and shift levers which are Shimano. I assume the original ones were replaced.

I can't identify the crankset, derailleurs and bottom bracket, although they seem to be Campagnolo. Any idea? The front derailleur has a Campagnolo logo on it but not the name of the model.

Not sure about the year of fabrication either.

F.W. Evans (which then became Evans) sold bikes and frames and IF the decals are original, it MIGHT be one of theirs.

Crankset looks like Sugino XD2.

Piece of advice, if you are to post on a forum, best to keep all info in one place rather than linking to another.

Any idea what era this Pinarello carbon post is and what bike it came on? 27.2mm. Aluminium clamp and collar, 3k plain weave carbon post which steps up in 3 thicknesses up to the clamp.

Does anyone know which Battaglin model this is? It is being sold for 250€ but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Should I buy it?

If they're original to the frame, the whole lot is mid-80s. It took several bike builds and many years to kill those mechs, I always loved that they look like a 7 year old made them from Meccano.

Yep, 851 SSC. Mavic said it could all be taken apart and they did all the spare parts. Quite rare nowadays and fetch good money in good nick.

It's a bit of a hotch-potch but I assume desirable to a few at the right price.
Shimano Levers and fd, Mavic RD, Campag brakes and headset, strong light crankset simplex downtime shifters, Cinelli bars and quill stem and smooth Pelissier hubs. Nothing sinister in the paint work but plenty of light rust spots and dodgy touch ups!
Anyone want to propose a fair value? Pal of mine who's fallen on hard times was about to sell it for what I think was much too cheap!

If you're looking to extract max value from this I'd be inclined to split it for parts - as a whole it's a bit impure but pretty much everything on it is desirable to some degree....
FYI Ricci was a bike shop in Cornwall, not sure if it's still going but in the pre-internet days I used to get their typed out price lists etc in the post, they sold the glittery italian exotica that was hard to come by in suburban England!

Hi thanks for your excellent input - yes Ricci (Bike Chain Ricci) is still going and based between Truro and Redruth. They seem quite fashionable and have a club and some sort of affiliation with the St Piran Race Team I believe. Funny; most would not associate 'glittery' and much less so 'Italian' and 'exotica' with Redruth but you learn something new every day. I think the intention is to try and make a win-win where the owners gets more than they thought they would have given it away for and a passionate buyer gets it at a price they see as great value. I don't want to take the time to split it for him and list, sell, package but I'm happy to help him out a bit. What would you reckon value wise - it's had a tidy up and the mechanic will give it half an hour (gratis) of his time later today to give it a quick once over although it's shifting perfectly well and riding fine?

Wheels are Pelissier hubs (not sure on rims) but the QR Skewers say P1001 which I think is a specific Pelissier hub
