Klasse.

When was a rook or castle part of a Tudor logo? I get the shield bit, not sure if the "castle" is deliberate.

While checking their logo history I found my new favourite Tudor design.

Would buy a 1:1 reissue of this if they could somehow manage not to put Arial on it.

@TRA that link pretty much covered the history although the Speedmaster in various guises was also the chosen watch in NASA tests in 1970 and again in 1978. What you mention about legibility in a shaking capsule is quite funny because it played an absolutely critical role in timing 14 second booster thrusts to get the Apollo 13 lunar module on the necessary trajectory to return to Earth when the mission went majorly wrong.
I know it’s a pricey book but Moonwatch Only still gets regular reading and if you can stomach Tom Hanks then the film Apollo 13 is fascinating insight into the madness that is space travel.

13 Minutes to the Moon podcast is also excellent for spaceflight nerds, as is the sequel that focuses on Apollo 13.

Nice one, I’ll check that out.

Tudor is a fashion watch label now, they're not interested in heritage...

Definetly not a fan of the ambassadors they choose, don't mind them as people but not really linking them to watch. Doesn't do anything for me anyway. Their marketing is all over the show. I know they wanna be the "hip younger brother" but they could still be so much more refined but still miles away from Rolex.

I was so excited when they relaunched but that soon passed... I would've loved to see straight reissues of some of their classics but nope!

They seem to be doing very well tho', so what the f*ck do I know?

I wore the Tudor for the evening beers. I tried it on the strap and nato but the bracelet is just better I reckon. It’s funny how many people complain about the fake rivets but wearing the watch, I actually never see them...

Lume looks great and my thoughts exactly on the rivets. Not always the case but tends to be people that have never tried a 58 on that aren't keen on them.

Is probably that area of metallurgy where rolled links let people down so much. So capped ends don't ensure confidence.

That said many vintage Rolex / Omega are rolled.

Only solid links seem to hold up today. 🤷‍♂️

I think the issue people have with the “rivets” on the BB58 bracelet is just that they’re purely decorative and therefore a bit of a retro affectation. Rather than whether or not you like the look.

The BB58 is awesome but for me if they did the rose logo, smiley dial, no fake rivets and a Pelagos clasp it would be perfect.

Yup. But that (to me) feels like a hockey puck on the wrist. And I don’t have a small wrist.

I’m actually lucky because I can get the perfect fit from the BB bracelet, so not too bad.

Almost a fade on that blue. Noice. 😎
