I had a girlfriend who would vomit and pass out if she even read the word spider let alone see a photo of a spider or heaven forbid a real one.
Interestingly she has managed to get a lot better since having kids. Still utterly petrified of them but no longer throws up of blacks out.
Phobias can be crazy powerful things.
