I'm really hoping that it's the walls drying out, rather than the walls getting wetter.

Does the Nested valuation report not show you the competition/recently sold? Our was pretty good at showing was was listed nearby and the pros and cons of each place compared to ours.

I don't really know, it got sent to my gf not me. But the fact is we can't sell for less than she paid cos we ain't giving the bank £15k to pay back the mortgage

Apologies if this has already been said/obvious, but Rightmove does something similar. I presume it shows you what the property was listed at, before a valuation or homebuyers survey (properties sold nearby/view more).
Our Mortgage application was sent off yesterday along with their 'shopping list' of additional items. God I hope I don't have to send them anymore documents. Now we wait for the results of the homebuyers survey and the sellers solicitor.

I met our seller today for the first time. Seemed like a good egg. Feel slightly less horrified by the prospect of coughing up the money for the place now.

Getting all the forms to fill out flying in now. Perfect time to run out of printer paper as none of them are able to be filled in online. Unless anyone knows a good, totally free, PDF editor. Tried converting into Word but not of the formatting worked.

I love a good form.
Nuts isn't it.
I edit them in Preview on Mac. Like pulling teeth.

I upload pdfs to my g drive and then use an app called doc hub. Works very well, even signature etc

I have creative cloud and always hated acrobat, but its really nice for filling in forms. Once it stops trying to open every pdf.

I just wish solicitors didn't party like it was 1995 and got a modern way of working going.
At least mine can access Dropbox.

a friend is using avr surveying and they have a slick web app with each step, the progress on that step and attached documents, looks really handy..

I had to physically sign one document in the whole buying/selling process. It does seem a bit random what needs to be done.

Mine, so far as I could tell, was a bit of a twat.
Although when I did more investigation I discovered it was a property development company whose profits were funneled up to a charity which was a bit weird.

I know, prices are crazy...but her and her husband have done very well so it won’t be a problem. The in laws also have place in the centre and have had it for years. Chances are they will pick up a place through word of mouth.

Obviously that's been done very nicely, but it's twice the price of my house and not more than half a mile away. I guess if you're a big cricket fan!

• #35697
Its £100k more than the other side of the street

• #35698
definitely one of the most desirable areas of bristol though. i'm unsure if that is obscenely priced for that particular area..... maybe the view +++

Should be able to trade for a nice 2 bed cottage in Salc? Have to say I really don’t see the attraction of that place, the average resident makes my skin crawl.

the average resident makes my skin craw
For someone who lives at the other end of the country, why?
Oh yeah - there's one the other side too
