Sounds good, there's plenty time I guess with Bridges only starting at 10. Expressing interest!
-
• #178
I have done no prep. The route is easy enough.
This is me suggesting navigation is crowd sourced 😁 whoever is at the front, don't fuck it up 😂

Excellent! Time for a list I think.

As one of the reasons I’m coming down from Edinburgh is this ride, it would be rude not to at least express an interest in this.

whoa, looks like we will just squeeze in ahead of the rule tightening
-
• #182
The rule does not apply to schools and workplaces, or weddings, funerals and organised team sports.
-
• #183
Everybody needs to make sure they are registered to LFGSS on British Cycling and Strava.
That should do it.

• #184
Could be in for this. Will have to keep an eye on Covid-19 situation closer to the time due to shielding in the household so I’ll be a last-minute yes/no
This post by Jonny69 was made a month ago.
Things were different then.
It's not my place to suggest to people how to go about their business. Just pointing out the difference between then (sub 100 cases per day) and now (circa 3000 cases per day and rising sharply).
-
• #185
Indeed, I’ve been considering pulling out in the last few days as I’ve been quietly watching the numbers in the background. The sharp increase in cases probably suggests there are more people carrying it in public than you think and a big group like this becomes a real risk. Deaths are just starting to creep up as well. So I think that’s my decision probably made and I’ll be pulling out of this one 😔
Hopefully see you on Bridges XXIV!

New rules start Monday so Saturday is under the current rules.
I personally am comfortable joining a reasonably spaced group of under 30 people outdoors. (I don't have anyone vulnerable in my household and can minimise social contact or even self-quarantine quite easily if necessary)

Yep, I know.
Was just amused that 'organised team sports' could continue on as before.:)

I suspect that's bowing to Big Football pressure

I imagine the risk of transmission on something like this is not particularly high, but I think personally it might be time for me to enact good behaviour and withdraw; rules current or otherwise.

It really depends how many arrive as well. At the moment there are only 20 or so confirmed, though I know it's easy to miss an @. I'm still tempted to ride over for the pre-ride social to say hello, and simply hang around the outskirts of the group before heading home. I was planning to bring my own drinks anyway and not go into the pub. There's plenty of space out the front and on the green to do that bit completely safely.

As it goes, I've never understood where to see my mentions in this new LFGSS and that's been what.. 8 years or something.

I'll arrive, not go into the pub, will carry a drink or two for myself, will hang out on the green close to the pub, social distance... and then ride.
The ride should be easy enough, and if it looks like more then 20 will turn up - then setting off as and when people are ready in smaller groups is a no-brainer. Otherwise leave at 10pm and ride as a loose group.

Usually when the alcohol anaesthetic wears off
-
• #195
Yeah was thinking to just do that with my friend, by leaving around the same time.
We'll be stopping more often as he also wants to look for a couple of geocaches along the way
-
• #196
By "confirmed" attendees, do you mean the list I've seen on the couple of last pages rather than the thread's built in list?
-
• #197
Anyone on the list we’ve been copying and pasting who replied with a yes.
But like I said, it’s easy to miss being @d on the forum. So it’s a rough gauge, but probably more reliable for minimum numbers than the forum built-in list.
