  • Thank you!

Fortunately our situation is rather unique in that we have already moved back and are renting in Ireland, with no short term plans to buy here. Our freehold house was relatively low value (for London) so had an offer fairly quickly, i just hope it keeps going smoothly as i don't fancy paying a mortgage and rent for too long!

  • Share of freehold. The owners of the two flats jointly owned the building then each had a lease with what they were responsible for. It worked out very well, in part because the leases split the building up so there was very little joint expenditure (for instance I was responsible for the roof which worked out well when I wanted to add a loft conversion). Also got along well with the guy downstairs so we each did bits and pieces as and when (repainting communal areas, front yard, etc)

@stevo_com I know a couple of people who do that. It seems weird, you can't rebuild only half a house.

  • Also, I wouldn't trust an estate agent whatsoever in giving me that information.

  • True, but no mortgage broker, lender or solicitor (while both buying and extending the lease) seemed concerned.

  • Thats madness price wise, kinda like the vibe of the place too.

I've been to Leeds a few times, it's not a bad city and actually has things going on unlike many other places in the UK.

  • what survey did you use for this?

  • What's their name? I may have been on a feedback call with them today.

  • Will. Also it looks like I'll be using Nested as a customer too now

  • Septum piercing? If so, only got 5 or 10 min with him at the end. Proposed changes to the UI look really good

I'm sure you have another method but if you need the £500 discount referral code, I'd get a £500 John Lewis voucher.

  • Nested? Got the referral sorted?
    If not...
    https://nested.com/?refcode=Uaihdu_RWRQ

Whoops. Beaten to it by Stevo. Use his, he's already used my code so I'll duck out

  • That's the guy. And sorry but I've already used his referral.

  • I would have expected as such, no worries.

  • Did you get your kick back or does it need me to have paid up?

  • Only once you've exchanged I think, otherwise it'd be very abusable

  • Makes sense. Fingers crossed for both of us then.

  • lender has asked for my partners 18/19 p60, which we cant get, then for payslips instead, which we cant get, then for 12 month bank statements for 18/19 financial year.. which.. also cant get..

(company closed, tried contacting various people who managed to get p45s but nothing else and closed the current account she had for 18/19 FY)

this worries me, but also how important can that old information be..?

  • I assume HMRC will have a digital copy which is available via a subject access request or maybe the Self Assesment system

  • apparently you can get a a statement of earnings, will see if that will do

  • We had this with bank accounts, and were able to go in branch and get statements for accounts even though we had closed them all.

  • Got a plasterer coming tomorrow to repair our ceiling and skim. Found via mybuilder.com. Price is £400.

For that type of job would you expect to pay on the spot of after receipt of an invoice in the next day or two?

    Cheers.

  • they might give you an invoice on the spot and expect you to pay by bank transfer very quickly. they will also gladly take cash.

  • That's what I thought.

    Thanks.

  • Try hmrc online self assessment should be all there. Tax code no contributions etc

Partner will need to create a govt gateway login if not got already
