That is about the age/mileage of my gti and i am starting to have to fix more stuff each year. this year i will have to replace the central locking in the driver's door, which will be £££. last year it was the rear control arm(s) and relevant stuff. that had to include tyres, too.
i reckon i spend a grand a year on maintenance, which will only go up. the car has been pretty much reliable and hasn't let me down yet, apart from trying to work out the issue with the door a few months back.
Same mileage as our 535, though it's only 9 years old. Probably costs about $1000 a year. We've done water pumps (typical), some turbo plumbing and brakes. UK road salt probably a significant variable though.
