  • Yeah, also (mainly) this.

  • Yeah it looks great and Standert frames are really nice. I'm taking a longer path but I'll end up with something pretty similar. I was looking for this exact bike a while ago and nothing fit the bill but that 56cm one is like it was made to my specs.

  • pinnacle dolomite?

  • This Standert might do everything that I want it to (mainly look pretty), would possibly like a little more clearance though. Getting a bit of an itchy trigger finger as haven’t been able to get hold of this years Cosmic Stallion and can’t find out when the next is due

  • Looks like they've done away with the crappy rubber cable guides which was my main gripe with mine. Not trawled the spec sheet but it should take 650bx47.

  • Yeah I was pleased to see that. Not sure about changes to routing around the BB but I'm using di2 so not such an issue. I think officially it's 650b*44 but as ever it probably depends on wheel/tyre combo etc.

  • Won't do offroad but meets the other criteria

  • Some really great responses. Thank all.

That Standert is beaut! Essentially what I'm looking for is a roadie gravel bike like you say. The Definition is also a nice option @Sumo and a bit more purse string friendly. The Trek checkpoint would be the bling version @edscoble but it may get locked up outside sometimes during the day.

  • this might be a dumb question but (hasn't stopped me before)... would I have any issues if I bought the pfadfinder frameset and transferred across all the kit from my current arkose D3? post-mount brakes, thru-axles are same sizes, everything seems like it would work... only issues potentially (which don't seem major really):

    • pfadfinder seatpost is 31.8 (D3 is 27.2)
    • pf fd clamp is 31.8 (D3 30.9)
    • bottom bracket? D3 is praxis M30 BSA - find bottom brackets confusing enough as it is
  • pfadfinder seatpost is 31.8 (D3 is 27.2)

I don't think it is. 31.6 is the common seatpost size. Looks 27.2 to me. Probably 31.8 clamp

    pf fd clamp is 31.8 (D3 30.9)

    Cheap to replace

bottom bracket? D3 is praxis M30 BSA - find bottom brackets confusing enough as it is

I think the Standert uses T47, a new standard of oversize threaded BB shell. You will be able to use your cranks but you'll need to buy a suitable BB

  • thanks - doesn't seem beyond the wit of man then. tempted

  • Yeah, seat post is 27.2 on the Pfadfinder I think.
And the frameset price includes a T47 bottom bracket of your choice, so just pick the right one for your cranks.

  • There we are, do it.

  • Pfadfinder is flat mount so you’ll need adapters too but cheaper than buying whole new set of calipers

  • I think the D3 is flat mount actually too, so another issue averted...

  • How much are they? I can’t see the price

  • My 2014 Giant TCX has done all of those things. Agree with the other posts saying adding / removing mudguards is a faff especially when they need a bit of bodging with no seatstay bridge.

  • Look for fyxation Sparta

  • £1,436 including a BB & CK headset unless pricing has changed for this version

  • Wasn't game to ride down that on 40mm tyres and no suspension. The 50 odd metres of hike a bike weren't without problems either, and might have even felt worse than riding down, just that the potential consequences weren't as drastic. View from the top was great, and all the other gravel and single track went fine, even if I suck at tight turns.

  • Here's the view on top plus the section of the trail right after, which I managed to ride. It wasn't 25% anymore from there on.

  • I’d quite like this but it’s going to be about 4 times my budget when it’s released I reckon.

  • Super long 400mm steerer, for all the tall guys out there who could not find a fork to fit their bigger bikes

    @Hulsroy !
