I think, mostly with these, don't you want the "this is going to be a ball ache to cut through, let's go somewhere else/see what else we can rob"?

Yeah. Especially as it's in a garden where I imagine they will be trying to be very careful about the noise they make.

I'm not sure what I can do about the "try it and fuck up" bit. That's sort of our of my hands, no?

You want to make it so if it's opportunistic "jump over the fence, what's in here, oh that looks good lets have that, oh it's locked and anchored fuck that" happens rather than
