When I was involved, an air-sprung seat with a pressurised cabin was cutting edge!

The latest thing is GPS guided drones spraying precise doses of fertilisers.
The farmer loads their tanks at his building. Drone flies away, does its work and returns without wrecking any crop. -

Now that I must Google, they must be the size of a helicopter to carry the tanks! If my mate's boss gets one he's out of a job.
The only tractor I get to play with is an ancient Fergie with a power harrow for rotavating large areas. It has natural air conditioning and a metal seat....

Did somebody say VTOL electric heliplane that is being developed to be self piloting and inductively charged from the helipad? Can carry multiple passengers or cargo too.
You won't be seeing these doimg crop spraying any time soon but surely it's inevitable.

It all comes down to battery technology: Can you make a battery that has enough of an energy/weight ratio to allow a plane to carry a useful payload?
I ran a little workshop that manufactured the batteries for these drones: https://flyzipline.com/
Our 16kg drone carried a ~1.7 kg payload. Of that 16kg aircraft, 9.5 kg of that was the battery - of which ~8 kg was just the Li-ion cells themselves.
For comparison a fuel tank containing the same amount of energy in the form of jet fuel (basically kerosene I think?) would weigh <1kg including the fuel. So, for electric planes to approach the performance of hydrocarbon-burning planes, we must make batteries an order of magnitude better than current tech (well, 2017 tech).

The pizza hotdog thing is even more depressing than it superficially appears.

Although this quote is always good value:
"“I shot almost two million photographs as the Chief Official White House Photographer during my eight years in the Obama administration. Every picture was transferred to the National Archives on 1/20/2017, and I can assure you there is not a single photograph of President Obama with 20,000 hot dogs.”

I'm currently in A&E in Middlesbrough (with a very minor injury that I think I need a tetanus shot for) and some bloke has come in, covered in blood claiming that he's nearly cut his fingers off. It seems like he might have done it on purpose because he thinks it'll get him a covid test. I have no idea what the logic behind that is.

I don't believe so! I'm not sure why a mutilated hand would automatically entitle you to one. My ex is from Borough and I can confirm that this does indeed appear to be "classic Borough"

First time I’ve seen an angle grinder used to open a melon.
The biggest change in farm machinery is in computerisation. The gear my mate drives 'learns' fields by gps, ensures no overlap of spray and calculates spray dosage by yield. The combines calculate yield by acre and moisture content of the grain plus a million things I have forgotten. Modern kit is all air conditioned and has suspension seats that are more comfortable than the average sofa. The little shit reminds me of those details every time the temperature rises above 30.
