Pfadfinder pre-sale is this weekend @GrimpeurG but it's a bit spenny. I'm getting one though, having asked almost the same question a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty set on the Standert to start with but having shopped around it does seem to be about the roadiest gravel bike out there, if that's what you want.

Some really great responses. Thank all.
That Standert is beaut! Essentially what I'm looking for is a roadie gravel bike like you say. The Definition is also a nice option @Sumo and a bit more purse string friendly. The Trek checkpoint would be the bling version @edscoble but it may get locked up outside sometimes during the day.

I'm sure there's more out there. Early "gravel" frames took around 35mm tyres max but over time they've been competing for who can fit the fattest tyres and now most frames seem to be up to 28 tyres or like 40/45mm tyres.
