If you’re on a budget and value awesome shifting/trimming over shifting from the hoods then don’t overlook bar-end shifters.

looks ace JB ! really cool

The wheels sound nice, you could put 10 speed cassette on as an upgrade over 9. Should fit as 8,9 or 10 can all go on the same driver?

Looking to replace my 2011 veloce group that has got pretty sloppy now - I think chorus might be the one, this bike looks great. Did you notice any change in clearance of the calipers? Ive seen mentioned that the current campag brakes aren't so great with tyre clearance with 28s
-
• #7732
Nope - all good here. I believe the 12 speed chorus callipers can clear a 30c tyre. I have 28s and there’s lots of clearance. I could run a 30 in there if my fork allowed me to. But it doesn’t...
I believe Record and SR have less clearance than the Chorus brakes. -

Perfect, cheers.

DA9000 owners, I assume the RH rear shifter should be nice light single click to shift into a higher gear?
Not the stiff double click which I'm experiencing.
-
• #7736
Well, you can shift one, two or three gears at the same time, but yes, it should be a nice light shifting action.
-
• #7737
yes, should be pretty light and springy, what JB said

Cheers both, any recommendations for a London workshop that would know their way around a DA shifter? preferably south or central.
-
• #7739
Are you using the special cables?
-
• #7740
If I can get it working I will treat this to proper DA cables but right now there's something clearly wrong when it's been disconnected and flushed out.

All varies on the frames geometry, cable routing and position.

I have an Ultegra FC-6800 on one of my bikes, running 10 speed. I'd like to replace with a compact crankset. Are the 10/11 speed cranksets interchangeable?
-
• #7744
The road chainsets officially no, in practice yes.
I have an Ultegra FC-6800 on one of my bikes, running 10 speed.
And here’s the proof ;-)

Thanks. I had spotted that it was a mix of 11/10, but wasn't sure if this was a general rule!

Having a new project going on is a SRAM Force 1 hydro flat mount set front and back ok to buy end of 2020 (from a forum, new from bike, €360)? Or should I wait, save some money, etap and all these fancy things? Currently I have an old Force 1 set, with V-Brakes, happy so far, 11-speed, so cassette could be used with the hydro version.

Nice looking cranks. I wonder how these break?
What bike is that? I dig the cable routing along the top of the chainstay.

Am I going blind or do they not have Gravel in the list?

Nice looking cranks
Where?
Lucky me bought A beautiful Bob Jackson End-End Audax frame from @Phil221985.
Can’t wait to get it up and running. I want to set it up as an Audax bike rather than the single-speed it now is... But money.
So. It came with a nice wheel set - Hope 9spd on Open Pro. Should I build it up as a 9spd using decent used kit or wait and get new wheels when funds allow?
I’ve got a complete XT 9spd groupset that i could cannibalise but would be ugly. Could combine with STIs though?
Any recommendations for stuff that would befit such a classic machine but won’t bankrupt its owner??
