They brought in Aru to lead the team in GTs. He’s won a single race in three years and his best GC result is 14th in last year’s Tour. By any objective assessment, he’s failed to deliver the results he was expected to.

I know sport is by definition fairly public but I can't help but feel those words should be had behind closed doors. By shitting the bed so publicly the ex world champ has made everyone look stupid.

I think there’s been a demonstration of bad management regardless of Aru’s performance based on manager comments.

Also the culture within the team is not quite the same as Jumbo Visma, where Tom Dumoulin, Giro winner, is sacrificing himself for Roglic. Don’t see Aru doing the same for Pogocar.

Hirschi is 1:02:57 down on GC. Which means he needs to recover 1:02:37 on Bernal to take the white jersey.

Ah shit I was looking at the wrong tab on the tour website, stage rather than general. Oh well, I'm happy to gamble for a quid that Bernal may crack and drop out.
