52x9, strong
Yes, I regularly spin out at 45mph on flat roads...
Ha, I'm kinda taking a step back here. For years I rode 53-39 not because I think I'm solid or anything but its just happened be what I got and stuck with it. Was only a couple years ago I moved to compact and 32t cassette - was a revelation!
52-36 was the only option on Red I could find cheap enoughon ebay. 110bcd so will surely be going back to compact eventually.
If anyone happens to want to swap these rings for a 50-34 set pm me!
Final pieces of the puzzle arrived today for the Tarmac.
Red bb30 crankset brand new for £150 on ebay.
I've went with a 3t overdrive cassette. This is an 11 speed 9-32 cassette but it fits an xdr driver.
I didn't want to spend £120 odd quid on a shimano free hub so the 3t cassette lets me keep the xdr driver on the zipp wheels.
Theres a potentially annoying jump from 9t to 11t but its fairly hilly riding where I live so the smoother jumps at the other end should work well for me.
Can start getting the bike built tomorrow evening but still looking for some nice 44cm aero bars to finish it off
