Me too. It also says 430 sold in the last 24 hours so I presume they spotted how fast they were selling and put the price up...

On displays I've got a DELL U2719DC QHD with USB-C and I'm very happy with it.
It's connected to my main machine with Displayport but being able to plug in my work laptop and Chromebook with the USB-C cable then use all the accessories connected to my monitor is really handy.

😎
2012 iMac 27inch going up for sale now.
Monitor wise; I've got a couple of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07MWLYJ6V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_o8JuFbJ97XQ3V
HP 25X - nice minimal borders. Can't fault them for a 1080 monitor.
Off to buy some usb c adapters now....

It didn't work anyway! I'm bored of waiting, I want a Mac mini and an RTX3070.
I told you to get a local lad, you're what's wrong with the economy, stealing jobs!

get a local lad
Almost tempted with the government Kickstart scheme, but I'd have to hire 30 of them to be eligible and feel that would propel me into my destined Fagin role earlier in life than I'd anticipated.

Was that price yesterday.
Then went up on HUKD and obviously got swamped, so they bumped the price up a bit -

Managed to hustle some funds to get one of them minis last night. They were selling every five minutes when I last checked around 3am.
I've tried looking up screens but all the numbers and varieties is making my head hurt.
Don't need anything mad techy, decent enough for basic use of indesign and photoshop. Prob got a budget of £200 for one in 27" atm or one in 24" with the aim to buy another in the future.
Whats recommended? Is this worth keeping an eye on?

MagSafe or USB C?
I’ve found the cheapo MagSafe ones are slightly underpowered and the battery can go backwards, and the cables are even less durable.
Also such things tend to have a casual approach to electrical safety and RF emissions best practice, although usually just about on the right side of acceptable. Usually.

USB C. Decided to go for the official one for all the reasons you stated. £70 for the plug and it doesn’t even include the cable! FFS

I have one of those, and two of 30” ones. Lovely monitors but they’re getting properly long in the tooth. All mine got colour issues in the end so had to replace them.

@BigH I’ve just got the LG 27QN880-B 27'' QHD Ergo IPS Monitor which I can really recommend. It’s not the cheapest at £358, but the quality is fantastic and the clamp arm is really great.

The link says 499 for me?
I think that price was short lived, it was such a good deal.

Yesterday's price, sorry. Came to post here but saw it was posted already.

Is anybody using the iOS 14 beta yet?
I hear there's now turn-by-turn directions for cyclists (fucking finally) - does it work well? -
• #16272
I think it is only in the US. Certainly not Europe.

• #16273
Yea seems likely..

Also tried a London route and no dice.

I installed Catalina today, got me thinking about my first Mac BITD... LC475, think I got it in '94... This is pretty much the exact setup I had... Was probably running System 7(?), Quark 3 and PhotoShop 3, IIRC we got layers with that version...
