I was in Norwich at the weekend and was gutted not to have a bike with me to ride to the coast. This is me inviting myself on this tracklopack camping trip and please can we make it to the beach?

We can basically repeat exactly what I did today!

This looks great with all the bags on it.

Great job, makes me want to try some tracklopacking.
It's a nice change to see a fixed gear being built on here!

Just wanna say that these Jack Brown Mile Muncher tyres from @MattG87 are great!
I actually think I could squeeze 28c on this bike but the 25.5 diameter is pretty great. Feel really sticky, too though haven't yet ridden on that extra slippery type of "new rain" tarmac yet.In other news, I cannot overcome the slipping seatpost so think I have no choice but to start trying our different clamps and posts until I find one that grips :(

Have you tried a Salsa lip lock clamp, or said clamp + carbon grip paste?
-
• #90
Dya rate those clamps? Was going to try a Hope one as I had good luck with those on my old Bullitt
-

I use carbon paste on all my seatposts and none of them are carbon. The only issue I ever had with a slipping post was using a cheap Chinese clamp which wasn’t very round so wasn’t clamping well. Never had a problem with the Burls clamp.
-

I put them on every bike ever!
As a 100kg + chonk, I've had my fair share of slipping posts :-)
But yeah ^ carbon paste before huge amounts of clamping torque

Cool; I actually bought two of the control tech timania clamps because I love how they look and the design allows for immense clamping force. On the downside they were about £60 each!!

if none of that works another remedy is to use a dynamo light mount like this: https://www.bike24.com/p2102211.html
Solved my slippage issue but wont solve side-to-side if thats happening.
Clean and carbon paste everything first.

Clean and carbon paste everything first
Maybe not EVERYTHING...

Fenwick's carbon paste ordered. See you in A&E.
Until @ioreka buys it off you anyway
