• Another Q: I want to use my phone to navigate around a new city (planned a route on Google Maps - trying to scout a nice route with smooth roads) but don't have or want to use a handlebar mount. Can I just set the Google Maps directions running and use some bluetooth earphones (or one, to be safer), and have the phone in my bag? Should be fine, right?

  • That's how I used to do it (one bluetooth earpiece, you can get them for a tenner or so).

It's generally OK if you have a vague idea of where you're going but sometimes the directions are a bit tough to follow if you don't know street names or you're turned around and don't know which direction you're going.

It should renavigate you back onto it though so I tended to carry on regardless until it sorted me out.
