• Hi All,

As per title, I am selling a full bike I bought on here less than a year ago from @Belagerent
Original post here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/337627/ with all the information, plus a link to the project thread for the build.

I rode it happily over the winter, staying comfy and dry. Didn't get as much use since beginning of lockdown other than the weekly grocery run. As I start commuting again, I will also move soon, lengthening my commute to 15km each way, a bit too much for this awesome rig. Note to buyer: Comfort comes at the price of speed - unless you ride a full sus emtb.

You will immediately notice the asking price is higher than what I paid for it a year ago, but before you go on a full rant, here is the list of upgrades I justify the price with:

    • Fully serviced rear hub (hubs are loose ball bearings, easy to service, but needs to be done after some time)
    • New narrow-wide chainring
    • New chain (less than 1000km on it)
    • New cassette
    • New BBB sealed bearings jockey wheels
    • Blackburn out front rack (the stays were cut for a different bike, so this cannot be leveled any more, without a new set of stays)
    • Swapped hydraulic braks with TRP Spyre C, this is techincally a downgrade (needed hydro for my new commuter) but the TRPs have just been disassembled, cleaned and regreased and come with new or close to new pads.

Here are the caveats on the bike/things to improve:

    • The disc adapters are tightly close to the rotors (it looks like they have been face ground to fit). There is minor rubbing when pushing hard on the pedals or getting out of saddle and the hub/rotor flexes. This should be easy to fix with 0.5mm additional filing on the mount.
    • The chainline is slightly too out (2/3mm) due to the NW chainring. A shorter axle BB should just fix this, you can live with the noisier uppermost two gears or I can provide the previous chainring if you'd rather live with chain drops at every pothole.
    • One of the adjusting pads of the TRP Spyres has a rounded nut (internal front caliper from memory). This can be replaced if required.

The bike is currently in Peckam (SE15 3NH) at a friend's place that is happy to deal with the buyer (he tried it for a week as he wanted to buy it, but realised it's not for him).
Asking price is £175, PayPal preferred, fees not included.
Dibs honoured if followed by a PM, but this needs to go asap.

Also tagging @MisterEd and @flatik as they had second and third dibs originally a year ago.

Quite pleased this will stay in the LFGSS family.

  • Thanks for the thought, no longer looking though, good luck!

  • Glad to see you got good use out of it my friend and hope the next owner does too.

  • Lovely bike as always.

Had another similar project since, but good luck with sale!

  • Yes please! Would love this for my partner.

I’m away till Thursday if you would be willing to hold till then.

  • 2nd dibs for my brother :) if ectoplasmosis doesn't take. And can collect asap.

Edit: I would send it to Glasgow, and he's not a bike fanatic so technically it would leave the LFGSS community. happy for you to give 2nd dibs to another in the London family if that's your preference.

  • @ectoplasmosis has first dibs and virtually sold, pending collection.

    @Alban second dibs, noted
