  • I've worn an original one of them and the originals are incredibly resistant to everything and very heavy. I believe their designation is: DSA-1-4581-64-C

    It's an A-1 - but I have most commonly seen them listed as 'Extreme Cold Weather Jacket' as per Coleman's site.

  • Ah thanks, I'm thinking of using it in winter for my driving job, so a little weighty warmth and durability won't hurt. I still lust after the nicer Japanese N1 copies, but this comes in at about a tenth of the price of the most expensive ones!

  • I like an N-1 aesthetically, but unless you wear high wasted jeans/trousers, I'm not sure they work. They're just very short. I'd want more length than that for proper winters, such as yours.

    An N-2 or B-3 would work better than an N-1, but that's just me :-)
