David Byrne eh. I wonder what his tactical set up would be?

I'm guessing he's like Pep.

Will need you to provide musician as manager.

The 12 points definitely haunts clubs like ours. Could 100% be our year if we don’t strengthen in the right places.
We need someone who scores goals at this level. Can’t rely on Austin and HRK. Also feels like we need some quicker defenders.

I was hoping you'd link me to a relevant article rather than link me to 1,102 articles...

Is a good start.
But he's been banging this drum for a number of years.

There are also more games where one team had >50 % of the ball.

It's expressed badly but there are more teams willing to "let them have the ball we just won't give them space behind us"
-
• #153942
Not much, tbh, other than he was in the U21/23s at a time when quite a number of good players were emerging - Hamza Choudhury and Harvey Barnes - so he must've been OK. But he got released and other players from that team are breaking through now - Darnell Johnson, Admiral Muskwe, Layton Ndukwu. Wigan fans would have a more up-t0-date assessment of him.
Hope things are good in the sticks btw x

You must have missed the Chelsea season with Ray Wilkins, we were regularly tiring of standing to cheer the goals :)
We stood throughout the match in those days; even 0-0 draws.

Royston Town friendly against Barton Rovers tonight. Hardly the CL final but a welcome return to seeing football live.

I try.
I mean. I'm still stuck on the "musicians as managers".I'm going Lou Reed as Jose.
-
• #153947
yep. we have no strikers at the moment.
We already know Hegazi and Bartley are too slow at this level and I cant see Sawyers and Livermore winning any midfield battles.
I'm watching this season through my fingers and just hoping.
whats the Royston transfer budget looking like? -
• #153948
are you basing things on looks, personality, musical feel?

Life is good out here fella. Spotted Mike Reed old radio one DJ and saturday morning kids TV fame. Pretty much put the cherry on the summertime cake out here

Bit of everything.
I think Lou Reed == Jose is pretty good. Ground breaking, innovative, cocky, great, then dog shit and recalcitrant.
The perception is aggregation of talent and tactics delineated by finance.
Yes it has always been like that, but the levels are skewed so if you're juventus and you win all the domestic stuff but not the big cup then you fail.
I mean. We've seen this model in Scotland. So perhaps we'll have massive failure in the big leagues too.
