  • lovecraft country exciting and intense start, I wan to binge the whole lot right now

  • looks ace.

kinda disappoint that they shot their "giant tentacle space fucker from dimension x in the trailer" bolt in the first scene.

    jackie robinson mvp tho...

    +shoggoths.

  • The Anelka feature on Netflix is a good watch

  • Loved the first episode of Lovecraft Country, hopefully it’s keeps it up.

  • Found ourselves watching Money Heist again. It really isn’t very good, is it. I keep screaming ‘it’s only been 4 days’ and ‘why can’t you just do your job’ at the screen. And so much gratuitous, well, everything.

Please, any suggestions for anything better!

Recently finished Better Things. It was sold to me as a female Curb Your Enthusiasm. It really isn’t - while it’s set in LA in the entertainment business, you’re clearly meant to find the main character sympathetic. She’s rough round the edges rather than sociopathic. It’s pretty engaging and writing gets progressively better, though I think her kids are meant to be sparky and charismatic, and I just can’t get over how spoiled they are.

  • I love Better Things, Pamela Adlon was great in Louis, playing a very similar character. It feels like telly for actual grown-ups. Have you seen One Mississipi? Got cancelled after two series but really excellent. Also linked to Louis CK, though Tig Notaro says he really had nothing to do with it beyond being credited as an executive producer.

  • Just watched the Looming Tower on Prime, what a powerful show

  • Minding the Gap

    Amazing documentary on IPlayer
It starts as a skateboard doc and becomes something totally different.

  • Really enjoying High Score on Netflix. Pretty straightforward video games documentary, but quite fun.

  • Stateless is very good, 6 episode drama series about the Australian refugee system, currently on Netflix

  • I've been enjoying that. Has lead me to downloading street fighter. Golden axe and 1942 to my phone. I did try sonic again but I could never play that game well!

  • So season one of War of the Worlds just finished, what was that all about? 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Enjoyed watching that, nice style to it, well put together.

Don't watch any telly at home because I work in TV transmission and would just be too much.

This looks interesting tho, something for the night shifts.

  • The Boys season 2 arriving soon. Quite looking forward to it, but I can't tell if I'm remembering s1 to be better than it was. It was good fun, right?

  • It was great. Reviewed as such too so not just rose-tinted specs.

Hoping season 2 will continue the trend.

  • Call My Agent (netflix) is really superb. It's french and I'm quite enjoying subtitles as it means not staring at my phone through it.

  • Got round to breeders, good stuff, first episode of that Lovecraftian jobby is great. Also just remembered I watched and really enjoyed upright a little while back and can't remember if I said so.

  • I watched that the other day its a really nice little doc. Well worth a watch

  • Second episode of lovecraft is absolute bollocks. Wastes the entire premise with ‘everything is just magic and this magic looks like a shitty computer game’.

  • First one was amazing, second not so much but still fun, but I'm in now so will watch the lot.

  • Cobra Kai is now on Netflix (S1+2, not sure if there is more)

It's 30+ years after Karate Kid, Jonny Lawrence is bumming about scratching a living, Daniel-San is a successful car dealer.
I'm 2 eps in and loving it

  • Awww shit, The boys will be in non binge format. three episodes tomorrow and then weekly drip.

  • I watched the first series over a couple of days. It's really well written with lots of nods to the films, and a good balance between overt comedy and some darker bits. Don't get me wrong, it's never winning awards but it's good trash TV.

  • If anyone was into Gomorrah then the follow up film L’Immortale is finally out, I thought it was worth the wait.
