  • The speed sensor? Any ANT+ unit should do the job. I suspect I've got a Garmin GSC-10 speed/cadence sensor going spare if you want one.

ANT+ is a wireless communications protocol. Used by HRMs, speed/cadence sensors and power meters.

In theory all ANT+ sensors and head units are compatible, so it doesn't have to be a Garmin speed sensor.

  • That's it! The speed sensor!

    Ebay magene OK?

I'd be happy to take them off your hands if you really don't need it. (thank you for the offer!)

Do they no longer need a magnet on the spokes?!

  • Ebay magene OK?

My Magene sensor lasted half a year, a new battery didn't bring it back to life.

  • Never tried a Magene sensor so I couldn't say. I'll see if I can dig out a GSC-10. Unlike the newer models, the GSC-10 does require magnets - one in the spokes for speed, one on the cranks for cadence.

  • I've got 3 GSC-10s going spare if you want one or more of them. Only 2 Garmin spoke magnets and no Garmin crank magnets - I just used to use a rare-earth magnet on the end of the pedal spindle for cadence.
