Absolutely, yes get it.
I loved mine was only the 8V but was a GTI had a MK1 and a MK4 and this was easily my favorite to drive, power steering for the win!
Rust killed it off only paid £250 for it mind with 1 previous owner. Found pics, check the interior!
Mind you I did sell it for 80 quid to a guy who was going to use it for banger racing.

Been offered an early MK3 golf that has been stored in a basement garage for 30 years. It is a freebie on the understanding I put the car back on the road.
Supposed to be in good nick, would you accept the challenge? Would it be different if it was a MK2 golf? Not a GTi or anything special.
