Miche Graff are heavy but are 24mm spindle and solve the chainline problem.

These work well, spare rings are cheap too!

I use GRX cranks with a standard 6870 mech. Works fine although it’s at the limit of its adjustment.

Have a ‘fast’ road bike and an mtb & now want something in the middle as all these stayer rides & #nogravel photos look too good to miss. Most common use is likely to be loops out from NE London but I like the idea of a very occasional bit of light bike packing/credit card touring. Any reason not to go for a Cosmic Stallion?
My thinking’s gone from something like a Straggler/Kepler to something inevitably more damaging on the wallet. Ritchey outback looks good too but the CS matches my Big Block..

Only the questionable behaviour of the QBP HR dept. but that still isn't stopping me lusting after basically the whole All City line up.
-
• #12534
Doubt it'll be cheap, but there's some new stuff coming for the CS pretty soon.

• #12535
pretty much, i just clicked on now i want 3 frames

• #12536
just ride the MTB
-
• #12537
But then I wouldn’t be buying anything?
Or are you saying I need a hardtail?
-
• #12538
Any hints? Something coming to the UK build options or a change to the frame set?
-
• #12539
It does at least look like they’re addressing this thankfully
-
• #12540
what is your MTB?
-
• #12541
Nope! I assume the UK builds will vary from stock US as with most QBP brands. Take from that what you will ;)

Stumpjumper Expert 29er. More bike than I need when I’m actually mountain biking, let alone riding out on lea bridge road

140 euros for two rings and the not really needed bolt covers from them seems like the best bet in honesty. cheers

I have ridden the stayer kent route with someone on full sus specialized epic with 2.1 mezcals, absolutely fine, he was also faster than most of us lol
i mean if you just need an excuse to buy, then buy! I am pro-buying.
Strange that EVERY review of gorilla monsoon says they are heavy .. @cake 's Kona which is pretty much the same isnt heavy at all ..

I’ve had someone sit on my wheel all the way in from Buckhurst Hill to Clapton on an XC bike at just shy of a 32kmh average so I don’t doubt it’s possible to be quick on those bikes but I’d definitely be moving glacially on the roads on 2.6’s without a proper suspension lockout

• #12546
meh, it ain't light, but it's all subjective.
It was heavy when I built it, then I got fitter, now the weight is weirldy not an issue...

It’s less to do with how fast you can do it on an MTB more to do with having that drop bar position.
Go for something silly that’s more off road verging on replacing the Mountajn bike.
You may find a bike that design for both road and off a bit sluggish on both. -
• #12548
he was also faster than most of us lol
It's like saying "we went on a fixed ride, a friend came with a geared bike and was faster".
Still doens't take away the fun of riding fixed. On the same line you can ride a XC bike or a Gravel/Road+ bike, with the latter making the riding more technical, therefore more interesting imho.

You are absolutely right.

I've ditched gravel/cx bikes in favour of a full suss short travel 29er and I couldn't be happier. It does have very effective simultaneous lockout of both shock and fork though which I think makes it the perfect solution (for me at least). Best of all worlds.
That is one good looking bike!
