We were very encouraged by this advice and went to get a second viewing, but the sellers have already accepted an offer.
Decision made for us I guess.
I appreciated the input from everybody though

Hartford's nice, I used to hang around on the grounds of Mid Cheshire College at weekends. A guy from my form has just taken over The Coachman.
A teacher friend from London has just moved back to the Wirral.

good to hear..
Looking at zoopla there are a handful of flats (that aren't converted houses) that have sold in the last 9 months in my area, not many but some... some hope -

the collapse of flat sales
This isn't being reported in the mainstream media - or at least, I haven't really seen any volume on it. You'd think with this country's obsession with housing it would be fairly big news?
-
• #35262
My understanding is that there are still some sales going through, i know two friends post-lockdown who have managed to buy flats, but i dont know what the actual flat/buildings are like

By south you mean south of birmingham/leicester? or London?
Suffolk? Or between Northampton - MK and Bedford? Those places aren't particularly brilliant but there is some nice countryside around them
Maybe rather than not Tory, not Brexity would be a good criteria?

Stow Brothers copywriter loves the word 'Capacious' as much as this home owner loves spotlights
-
• #35265
LOL at those spotlights, especially in the loft. Anxiety-inducing really.
As is the writing."The enormity of this property is profound" is my favourite line, almost Trumpian in its sheer non-sensical bluster. Having said that, I think one could equally make the case that the profundity of the property is enormous. But maybe that would be a capacious thing to say.

Top LLL content too

I missed the spots in the porch. Really gets you in the mood for what's to come - interrogation mood lighting at it's finest
-
• #35268
How many spotlights?!
-
• #35269
Oh yeah, buyers have asked for a second viewing (fine) and to meet us (bit weird). Other than not mentioning the ancient burial ground, any tips?
-
• #35270
Yeah, love the idea of casually sitting down on the corner sofa, smacking your head on the wall, burning your scalp on the spot light resting on your noggin and then in blind panic crashing into the balustrade
-
• #35271
to meet us
dogging potential !
-
• #35272
Can they be set so that the spot follows you around as you walk around the house?
-
• #35273
It's growing. The volume is increasing daily as the market is getting going post Covid. Nationally it's a relatively small part the housing market so it's never going to be front page news.
-
• #35274
They are saying flats aren't selling as everyone wants a bigger place after lockdown and lending restrictions are reducing first time buyers, so a different narrative
-
• #35275
I thought the 35 or so that had been fitted in my place was excessive but clearly the people who did my place were just amateurs.
My buyers got a mortgage offer apparently.
