Firstly, she's wrong. But putting that to one side
isn't too far from good road connections north.
is the killer. M5 will be the best which means Bristol way. M40 and M1 are less good but would put you around Bucks - places like Tring and Amersham are nice with good connections to London.

my olds lived in woodbridge for a few years - it is lovely (though presumably super tory). they moved to north berwick, which basically just seems like a scottish version of woodbridge...
-
• #35236
Yeah we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. These will be the 5th neighbours including both sides and all 5 have been fine so far...

Is in the south (not my choice)
South Scotland... Edinburgh

We drove through Tring a few weeks ago when I got bored of the M1, it looked quite nice and the Rothschild Natural History Museum looked interesting.
Leafy South Manchester would be my first choice, Edinburgh or Glasgow also appeal but they'd be more difficult job-wise.

For anyone interested in the EWS1 fiasco, it has its roots in the Cladding Scandal which was started by the Tories during their obsession with privatisation in the 80s. Pete Apps does a really good job of explaining it here. Far better than any of the mainstream media have so far.

^there was a large conversation piece on BBC London about this tonight.

Yeah it's really gathering momentum since the update to AN14 in January and the collapse of flat sales since. Whether that makes a diff, who knows? My flat is still worth £0.
-
• #35246
such a clusterfuck.
Ive been reading up on it all day, trying to find out if ANY mortgages are being offered on anything, hard to tell because people none the wiser who get offers arent posting about it, only people getting rejections.

• #35247
is not too Tory

LBC are running a story too. There’s a shortage of skilled assessors which means there’s a waiting list and cost averaging £40k which is crazy
-
• #35249
I think that might be an even harder sell.
Never thought I'd even think about moving back to Northwich but having seen what I could get for my money there it's starting to seem appealing.

£39k of which goes to the insurance company providing the professional indemnity cover.
Keynsham is alright mind...
