Yeah, finding a decent MK1 is really difficult. Ended up with two cheapies (imports and paid scrap value) both inner and outer cills had patches on patches and both failed MOT on rot. In short, and not sure the cars were straight after having the the inner, outer and middle cills replaced, £70 a side. Braced the shell properly too. Drilling the spot welds was a real pain. Then the cars had a cheap blow over. I stripped and masked the cars. Then reassembled once painted.
Made a bit of money profit, but think I paid myself pennies per hour.
EDIT: The Latest MX5 is so good it is rebodied as a fiat 124!
No pop up lights means that you don't have the pop up light coolness.
With the small number of sad people that loved pop up lights.
