Well that wasn't too hard.
The hardest bit was trying to find something online to confirm that the purple light on my Hub 3 meant it was in modem mode.
Placement of the Deco 4 probably isn't great. #1 is in a corner next to a lamp and the light switch. #2 is in the opposite corner of the adjoining room with a chimney stack in between.
Even so my laptop next to #2 is showing:
108.1 Mbps download
9.07 Mbps upload
The range hasn't extended further down the garden, but it's better around the edge of the house.
The two big tests will be my OH's video conferencing and no random glitches.
If all stays well I'm tempted to wrap #1 in vinyl to match the wall.
